OUR SOUTH MOLTON DEVELOPMENT

Welcome to our community website where you can learn more about the new homes we are building on Land off North Road, South Molton.

Outline consent for up to 250 new homes was originally granted in 2012 and then again in 2017, following the submission of amended plans. Since then, we have progressed in phases. We submitted a total of six reserved matters applications to North Devon District Council (NDDC), each benefitting from the support of South Molton Town Council. In total 200 homes will be built at the site.

From the outset, this development has proven very popular, not least because of the bungalows we have built, which are much in demand locally. A true community spirit has grown among the new occupiers.

FINAL PROPOSALS

FINAL Proposals

In August 2020, we submitted our final reserved matters application for 89 new homes, ranging in size from one-to four-bed properties. It represented the balance of the site yet to be developed, and covered matters of layout, scale, appearance and landscaping.

The homes range in height from 1 to 3 storeys, in keeping with the character of the surrounding area; almost two-thirds of the properties (58 units) will be 1 or 1.5 storeys. All of the open market homes will have a minimum of two off-street parking spaces, utilising both generously-sized garages and driveways.

As part of this phase, we are pleased to deliver the public open space with footpath link to Gunswell Lane to the south. We have also allowed space for the allotments alongside North Road.

These plans have now been approved.
